In this book > text from poetry and prose have been included based on the requirement of CAIE. To facilitate students to achieve high in CAIE > each piece of text is provided with detailed critical comments. Writing style > thoughts > and tone of each poet and author included in the syllabus has been thoroughly described. With the help of different short and long questions > students are introduced to the literary aspect of the texts.
Symbols and marks have been added to the texts to enable students to pronounce words correctly and recite poetry with correct elocution and tone.
To prepare students for satisfactory performance in CAIE and to enrich their minds by developing in them a predilection for literature > following contents have been added in the book:
- Life history of poets and authors
- Historical > social > political > and literary background of the texts
- Thorough explanation of the different types of literature and literary terms
- English alternatives of important literary terms and difficult words
